Abstract: New Design Provisions for Post-Installed Adhesive Anchoring to Masonry
Abstract: Strength Design with Post-Installed Anchorage to Masonry is here! This presentation will cover changes
made to the acceptance criteria related to post-installed adhesive anchorage to masonry with a focus on groutfilled
and hollow masonry block (CMU) applications. Engineers will learn about the history of the acceptance
criteria (AC58) and how anchorage to concrete has paved the way to bring masonry to a similar methodology. We
will briefly explore calculations that are specific to masonry and learn about how various calculations are done in
the background of software to generate controlling strength limits. Following this we will perform some hands-on
demonstrations of how to install adhesive anchors to masonry and proper usage of screen-tubes for hollow
applications.
This presentation will qualify for 1 PDH.
SEAKM membership is NOT required for this event, but it is encouraged and may be required for future events.
